Best Buns for Weight Watchers

You’ve come to the right place if you’re searching for the Best Buns for Weight Watchers!

Bread is a staple in my diet and as much as I’ve tried to stay away from it, I always find myself coming back to bread.

I’ve tried making meal plans without bread, but that kind of sets me up for failure because I love bread so much.

Bread has always been something I loved.

What I like about the Weight Watchers Program is that I can still eat the foods I love, but in moderation.

I can still have a slice of bread with my soup if I’d like to!

And, with that, I mean even traditional bread. It doesn’t necessarily need to be low calorie, as long as I count the points correctly.

We love sloppy joes in my family, and it’s nice because I don’t have to stop eating one of our favorite recipes if I can find a low point bun to go with the delicious sloppy mixture.

One of my favorite foods in the fall and winter is soup, and bread is just so good with it!

I can do without it, but I don’t want to. With these Best Buns for Weight Watchers, we don’t have to.

I’ve eaten many a turkey burger without a bun, but I would very much like to enjoy a bun from time to time.

Part of finding the sweet spot of a healthy lifestyle is also being realistic in what you’re cutting out of your diet, and when I’ve tried to cut bread out, I’ve always failed.

Why set yourself up to fail when you can continue on your Weight Watchers journey and still enjoy what you love?

I’ve put together this list of store-bought breads and recipes for the best buns for Weight Watchers, just for you!

Believe me, I’ve been trying different breads for years, and that includes buns, low-carb hamburger buns, hot dog buns, slices of bread, pizza crusts, white bread, crackers, wraps, you name it.

Remember to always put the food and recipes I post into your WW app to make sure the points I calculate match up with the points you calculate.

With the new WW Personal Points plan, everyone’s points budget differs, so for best results, make sure you’re using the points calculator or the recipe builder with the products or recipes I post.

There are so many different types of bread, and that means different types of buns.

I’ve tried to compile a well-rounded list for you, but I can’t list them all, so if you find any brand or recipe of buns that are points friendly and delicious, please leave a comment below or contact me here an let me know about them!

In my household, we usually buy Pepperidge Farm Light Soft Wheat Bread and Dave’s Killer Bread when I want to splurge.

(When I really want to splurge, I make my grandmother’s homemade white bread recipe in the bread maker.)

I usually will eat only one slice of Dave’s since it’s a little higher in calories.

Keep in mind these opinions are my own, and you may have a different taste for the ones I’ve recommended.

Best Hot Dog Buns for Weight Watchers

Franz Bakery Keto Hot Dog Buns – These are expensive but can be worth it if you’re really trying to enjoy a hot dog bun as close to the real thing as possible. These buns are made mostly with wheat starch and wheat gluten. There are 8 buns in the package. Prices vary, but I bought ours on Amazon after a friend recommended them and I couldn’t find them at our local grocer. Click here to purchase on Amazon. 1 point per bun.

Lewis Bake Shop Healthy Life Wheat Hot Dog Buns – Made with whole grains, these have a great taste, and they are very much like the regular texture of a regular hot dog bun. They are available at Walmart. If you don’t mind wheat, these are the way to go with a good taste and a good price! 2 points per bun.

Brownberry Keto Hot Dog Buns – These are soft, delicious, and satisfying. At 2 points per bun, you can’t go wrong. I found them at Walmart.

Best Hamburger Buns

Franz Bakery Keto Hamburger Buns – These are more expensive than your typical hamburger buns, but this comes in a 16 count, so you can freeze what you don’t use right away. 1 point per bun. If you can’t find them at the grocery store, you can purchase them on Amazon here.

Smart Baking Company Smart Buns – These are great if you toast them a bit, which I thought was a better taste/texture than right out of the bag. You can freeze what you don’t use with these as well. 2 Smart Points per bun. You can find them on Amazon here if your grocer doesn’t carry them.

Village Hearth Light Italian Buns – These have always been a go-to of mine. Two points per serving and delicious. I found these at my local grocer, but they also have them at Walmart.

Best Dinner Rolls

If you’re looking for dinner rolls, like something you would serve at Thanksgiving dinner, there are a lot of Keto options that are okay. Low-carb buns usually equal low points. I encourage you to explore your local grocer with your WW app and see what rolls are available that would suit your points budget.

We love the dinner rolls from Whole Foods. They are the 365 brand and are only 3 WW points per roll. It really satisfies that bread craving, and 3 points isn’t too bad!

We’ve also had the Nature’s Own Brioche Dinner Rolls, which are good too! Those are 3 points per roll as well. You can find these at Whole Foods as well.

The best way to find buns you love and that are low in points would be to take your app to the local grocery store to the bread aisle (or online if you shop for groceries online) and just take some time and put different brands into the points calculator to find out the point value of each one and which one is something you’d be interested in trying.

If you feel like whipping up a little something in your kitchen, here are a few best buns for Weight Watchers as recipes that I have found from other creators with great reviews below. You could also research low point recipes to make with your bread machine if you’re looking for something with less mess. I’ve found a couple of good recipes to make regular bread with wheat flour that taste good, and I think it’s really helped with my weight loss. I could try to experiment with this recipe and find a good whole wheat bun too!

I also have made incredible pizza crust and pizza dough with the two-ingredient dough, which is Greek yogurt and self-rising flour. I could experiment with this dough by making dough balls and seeing how they rise. It may be a good option for low point buns! It’s a quick dough to put together, and super easy too!

Make sure that you put each recipe into the WW recipe builder to make sure the points are correct for your budget.

Light Brioche Buns by Lite Cravings – This looks like a great recipe. These buns look delicious, are 4 points per serving, and are simple and easy to make! Get the recipe here.

If you’ve never had cloud bread, then you could try this recipe by Spend with Pennies and use it as buns! These have cream cheese in them, which makes them taste so good. At 2 Weight Watchers points per serving, it’s worth a try! Get the recipe here.

These healthy light wheat rolls have great comments and reviews. At one point per roll, you can’t go wrong with these! Get the recipe from Amy’s Healthy Baking here.

I hope that this list of Best Buns for Weight Watchers helps point you in the right direction. Let’s be honest, bread is life. Healthy breads can be hard to find, but there are lighter options available.

Comment below and let me know if this helped you, or if you’ve found any great buns I need to add to this list! What do you think is the best bread for WW?
