I received my first BOXYCHARM and I wanted to make sure that I share it with you! This is the March BOXYCHARM review, straight from my heart!
I have been a subscriber of Ipsy before but ended up cancelling it because they kept sending me things that I would in no way use. I mean, how many tubes of lip balm and bright orange lipstick can one person really use?
I’ve heard it’s better now, so I just signed up again to give it another try. We’ll see how that goes and I’ll make sure to post about it.

My cousin is a subscriber of BOXYCHARM and has told me how much she loves it. Because of that, I thought I’d give it a try. When I recieved and used these products I knew I had to post a March BOXYCHARM review to share with my readers.
Subscription boxes are so fun. I love getting a surprise in the mail any time! BOXYCHARM is a subscription beauty box that promises 4 to 5 full size products for $21 a month.
I was excited to see the words FULL SIZE because the other subscription boxes I’ve tried before often came with trial size products. While trial size is fun to try, it’s nice to get full size products.
This BOXYCHARM was a fun one! The theme for this month was “Bae cation”. It included some things I knew I would use and also a couple of things that I can experiment with. My usual makeup routine consists of moisturizer, primer, foundation and mascara. I never have time for anything else.
However, when I’m going out or I’m headed to a special event, I like to kick up the makeup routine a bit. This box will help me do that. This March BOXYCHARM review will help you make the decision of subscribing or not so you can experiment and kick up your makeup game too!
The shipping wasn’t very fast. I was excited to receive the email that my BOXYCHARM had shipped, but it took almost 10 days to get to me. They shipped it FedEx and then transferred it to the USPS, which I always hate because it seems to take so long.
It showed up on my doorstep 10 days later and I was excited to get that puppy open. I already knew what was in the box because BOXYCHARM will show you on their website. I wanted to get my paws on the actual products though and I coudn’t wait.
The box was taped with what seemed to be a million pieces of tape. (Okay, it was like 4 big pieces of shipping tape, but still…I wanted to open it quickly!)
Once I got it open, it was packaged nicely and included five full size makeup items and a card that explained all of the products and prices if I were to pay individually for each product. The subscription is $21 a month if you pay monthly. They also offer other subscriptions, such as three month, six month or 12 month deal. The more months you buy at a time, the cheaper it gets. Below you will find my honest March BOXYCHARM review for 2018.
Contents of the Box:
This month the box included:
- Eyeshadow palette from PÜR Cosmetics
- Volumizing mascara from Bellápierre Cosmetics
- Under eye gels from South Mane Beauty
- Smokey eye makeup brush set from The Vintage Cosmetic Company
- Blush from Pretty Vulgar
For this March BOXYCHARM review, let’s start by going through each one individually. I have tried all of these products and here are my honest thoughts about each one.
Eyeshadow pallette from PÜR Cosmetics:
I will be honest, I don’t wear eye shadow that much. I have hooded lids and I really have no clue how to properly apply it for my eye type.
I did use this product and the colors are not for me. The eye shadow itself seemed to be pretty transparent and didn’t show much much at all unless I used the very dark colors. The pigment looks great in the palette but on my skin it did not seem very deep.
It was more of a light shimmery look with color to it. I did use a primer before I applied the eye shadow but I wasn’t very impressed with the product. The full size product’s MSRP is $36.00, and to me, it didn’t seem worth it.
Smokey Eye Makeup Brush Set from The Vintage Cosmetic Company:
This is a set of three brushes, each with a different function for applying eye shadow for a smokey eye effect. They are sturdy and thick brush heads that will get the job done well.
Each brush is labeled to help you get the perfect effect. These brushes would be easy to clean and would last for a long time.
They sweep across the eye lid well and are easy and comfortable to hold. If you are an avid smokey eye person, I highly recommend these brushes. The MSRP of this product is $23.15 for the set of three, and I think they are worth the money.
Volumizing Mascara from Bellápierre Cosmetics:
I like a big, heavy, clump free lash. Like I said, I don’t use eye shadow, so I rely on my mascara to really do it’s job well.
This mascara was nothing fancy. It was clump free and went on easily, but it did not seem to volumize like the title promises.
The color I received was pure black and was true to its color. The mascara claims to create thicker and fuller lashes.
I don’t think it really did that with my lashes. I did apply two coats of the mascara and I feel it wasn’t anything special. The MSRP of this product is $20.00 and I would not pay that for this mascara.
Blush from Pretty Vulgar:
The color of this blush is as pink as you see in the picture. It is true to its color and goes on the skin smoothly.
You don’t need much of this blush as it’s color is loud and in my opinion, obnoxious. When I put just a small bit of this blush on my skin, I looked like I was 10 years old again playing with mommy’s makeup.
If you are adventurous in your makeup play, then this blush might be for you, but the color was just too loud for me. The blush itself seemed to be of high quality, and like I said, it didn’t take much to show up on my cheeks.
It went onto the brush well and came off on my face well. The MSRP of this product is $26.00. I would definitely buy this blush in a bronze color, but this color wasn’t for me.
Under eye gels by South Mane Beauty:
Let’s be real in this March BOXYCHARM review. I have a toddler who doesn’t sleep the best so naturally I don’t sleep the best.
I often have puffy eyes or dark circles under my eyes. I have to say these work really well!
I’ve used them twice since I received the product and they did reduce my puffy eyes and dark circles, which made me look more awake. They were easy to apply and did not hurt or pull my skin much when taking them off.
I also wipe my eye area a lot while removing my mascara, so the skin tends to get dry under my eyes. These moisturized well without it feeling greasy. The MSRP of this product is $10.00 and I think that price is definitely worth it.
So, all in all, I received 5 full size products worth a total of $115.15. While I wasn’t crazy about some of the products in this month’s box, it is fun to try new products and what I don’t use I hand over to my niece who loves makeup and has some major makeup skills. This would be a great gift for a teen, young adult or woman who would like to get beauty products in the mail to try.
